Questions About Hunter/Eq Showing (flat classes)?
Yes, I used to do EQ classes and it is always a good idea to get away from the crowd so that you have more room for you horse, don't have to be constantly passing other horses, and so that the judges can clearly see you the entire time in the arena. Trotting or cantering right after you walk in is also a great way to catch the judges eye! I would suggest trotting your horse after you walk in since it is his best gait, but do talk to your trainer beforehand and ask if they think that is a good idea (if you have one, that is). It also will help both you and your horse to relax, because you are forgetting about the judges and crowd while you are concentrating on your trotting, which will ensure a better performance. Good luck!(:
