Dreaming about my ex every night, why?! Do I still love him? Please answer?

So I dream about my ex boyfriend every night. We were together for a few years, but he turned out to be a major jerk. I'm with someone else now, and totally love my current boyfriend. I've been with my current boyfriend for a little over a year. The big problem is that I can't stop dreaming about my ex. I have sex dreams about him, dreams of him saving me from disasters, dreams of running up to him and kissing him, dreams of marrying him! It's driving me crazy, because I hate dreaming about someone who was so horrible to me. It's like I can't get him out of my mind. He lives in another state now though, and I haven't seen him for years! I don't even have him as a facebook friend, but my friend does. I sometimes look at his profile through my friends profile. I'm wondering if this is making me dream about him? He's so wonderful in the dreams, that I sometimes wake up crying. He doesn't have anything that my current boyfriend doesn't though. So how do I get him out of my dreams, and out of my mind FOREVER!?
